As the daughter of Stanley Willard Henson, Jr, a physician, and Thelma Burnell Henson, Michele Carey whose birth name is Michele Lee Henson was born on February 26, 1942 at Annapolis, Maryland in the United States of America. Her piano skills were exceptional as a teenager and she won the national competition at the Chicago Music Festival at just 13 years old. When she moved to Fort Collins, Colorado she settled with her family. She finished high school at Fort Collins High School and was graduated in 1960.
